Senior Product Designer, Design Systems

Careem is hiring a Senior Product Designer to run its multi-platform design system.

Location: Dubai, UAE

Type: Full-Time

Experience: 5+ years in product design, including 3+ on design systems

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of design tokens, components and patterns
• Set standards for color, type, spacing and interaction across iOS, Android, web and locales, including RTL and Arabic
• Maintain token architecture and documentation, with accessibility as a system-level requirement
• Make the system usable by AI agents through Code Connect, MCP integrations and structured metadata
• Drive adoption through design guilds, critiques and team training
• Work with engineering on feasibility and avoid component bloat

Requirements

• Advanced knowledge of variables, token architecture and component APIs
• Hands-on experience building LLM or agentic workflows, for example Figma plugins or MCP
• Ability to prototype in JavaScript or TypeScript and manage token pipelines
• Strong English writing and presentation skills
