Software Engineer, Auth (Remote)

Supabase is hiring a Software Engineer to build and run its authentication server. The company hires globally and has no offices.

Location: Remote, open to applicants worldwide

Type: Full-Time

Experience: 4+ years of production Go experience

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build secure, scalable authentication features in Go and TypeScript
• Work across server protocols and client libraries, including Next.js
• Own the performance, reliability and scalability of the Auth server
• Evolve the Auth architecture, including OAuth, OIDC and SAML support
• Plan safe database migrations across many Postgres instances
• Improve observability with metrics, tracing, alerting and dashboards
• Write and review RFCs and support developers on GitHub and Discord

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional Go in production
• 2+ years working on an authentication system
• Strong relational database experience (Postgres or MySQL)

Nice to Have

• Strong TypeScript
• Web fundamentals: cookies, sessions, JWT and HTTP
• Kubernetes, AWS and observability tooling
• Strong technical writing
