What You’ll Be Doing

• Design, develop, and maintain native Android applications using Java and the Android SDK.
• Participate throughout the full application lifecycle, from planning and architecture to deployment and maintenance.
• Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate RESTful APIs and third-party services.
• Build clean, maintainable, and scalable code while optimising application performance, responsiveness, and battery efficiency.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues.
• Perform code reviews and contribute to improving development standards.
• Work closely with UI/UX designers to implement intuitive mobile experiences.
• Publish and maintain applications on the Google Play Store.
• Contribute ideas to improve product quality, architecture, and development processes.
• Stay updated with Android platform changes and emerging mobile technologies while mentoring junior developers when appropriate.

We’re Looking For

• 3+ years of professional experience developing native Android applications.
• Strong experience with Java, Android SDK, Android Studio, Gradle, and Git.
• Experience building and releasing production Android applications.
• Good understanding of Android application architecture and lifecycle, REST APIs, JSON, local storage solutions, multithreading, background services, asynchronous programming, Material Design, and responsive layouts.
• Experience debugging performance and memory-related issues with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a startup environment, along with good written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Experience with iOS development (Swift or Objective-C), Kotlin, Firebase, push notifications, CI/CD pipelines, payment gateway integration, authentication, biometric features, mobile security, or fintech, digital wallet, gaming, and high-transaction applications is an advantage.
• Portfolio of published Android applications, GitHub or open-source contributions, experience leading technical decisions or mentoring developers, offline-first applications, or integrating QR scanning, NFC, Bluetooth, or location services are a plus.
