Fleet Manager, Middle East (Maritime)

Saildrone, maker of autonomous unmanned surface vehicles for maritime defence and ocean data, is hiring a Fleet Manager for its Middle East hub in Abu Dhabi. Reporting to the Fleet Director, the role oversees the safe and reliable operation of the regional fleet.

Responsibilities

• Manage fleet operations and maximise vehicle uptime
• Act as the main operational contact for the programme manager
• Build relationships with boatyards, marinas and tow providers
• Coordinate vehicle recovery and deployment at contracted facilities
• Handle vendor setup, purchase orders and invoice validation
• Help prepare the annual fleet operating budget and ensure local regulatory compliance
• Travel for site surveys and shore facility support (up to 15 percent)

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in maritime, logistics, operations, engineering or a related field
• 10+ years of hands-on experience in shipyards, boatyards, marinas or marine towing and repair
• 5+ years of operational leadership managing multiple vendors
• Small vessel operating experience and a project management background
• Fluent English; Arabic preferred
• Able to work outdoors in demanding conditions, including heights and confined spaces
